The Drums

The Drums are an American indie pop band from Brooklyn, New York who are definitely worth listening to, especially if you are a fan of Joy Division or Beach House. Their music is decked out in insanely catchy riffs and The Smiths-like melancholy. Described as a modern day Beach Boy's and filled with influences of The Smiths, The Drums are set for even more success. The catchy riffs and backings are amplified in each and every song by front man Jonathan Pierce's deep and meaningful lyrics, telling the story of heartbreak and reminding the audience that this incredible band is capable of emotion. The question is however.. what is better, the hard grafted music or Pierce's spontaneous retro and quite frankly awkward dancing? I'll let you decide for yourself...
