Of Monsters and Men

Of Monsters and Men is a six-piece indie folk band from Iceland. Their increasing success has flung them to the US top 10, a feat that has eluded fellow Icelanders Bjork and Sigur Ros. Their sudden success can only be credited to their fantastic and unique music, their delicate combination and contrast between male and female vocalists adds a fiery tone to the music that has drawn large similarities to Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros. The Arcade Fire comparisons will not have hurt them in the US marketplace, but to UK ears, there's something about the open-hearted harmonies that sounds similar to The Magic Numbers, or even the vocal interplay of The XX. The way both singers expertly wield acoustic guitars that balance and bounce off the beautiful vocals creates a sense that this is the folk band to watch this year. Mark my words they will make it big. I recommend listening to their single 'Little Talks'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghb6eDopW8I
