The Art Of Sleeping

The Art Of Sleeping are a indie/rock band all the way from Brisbane Australia, they have a similar sound to Coldplay and The Temper Trap; who the band list as their influences. This is a band who also has the potential for international success. Throughout each of their songs, skilful guitar riffs mixed with layered percussion are combined with the lead vocalist, Caleb Hodge's enticing and lingering tones; this creates the music that you wont be able to stop listening to.
I would recommend listening to Colourblind from their debut EP, which I consider to be their best song...

Daughter

Daughter is made up of Elena Tonra from London, who's voice has a remarkable similarity to Florence Welch's from Florence and The Machine. Tonra's voice has an alluring and calming quality, she released her first EP, The Wild Youth last November, which is absolutely fabulous, the songs could all be listened to on repeat for hours. Her song off this EP, Youth has recieved recent critical acclaim after being featured on the Tour De France advert, it is well worth listening to..

Roo Panes

Roo Panes has recently been flung into the headlines as he has been announced as the new Burberry model for their fall collection; whilst it is his looks that are in the limelight at the moment, it should be his beautiful voice. His music tends to sound quite folky, however their is a specific quality to his voice that makes it sound so different to anyone else's. Panes' voice has an alluring quality that is soothing and calming, each song is breathtaking and filled with not only his captivating voice but his incredible guitar skills. Panes is definitely worth listening to; I would recommend I'll Move Mountains..

Little Comets

If you like Vampire Weekend or The Maccabees you will love Little Comets. This upbeat indie rock trio are from Newcastle and are creators of perfect summer songs. Their only album 'In Search Of Elusive Little Comets' was released last year and is packed with songs that make you want to smile. While their album is fantastic you can't forget about Little Comet's EPs, it is these where the true gems lie. Their EP Worry, contains the wonderful 'Worry', this song has major similarities to Vampire Weekend and somehow Cyndi Lauper. Little Comets are perhaps the UK's most underrated band, you will definitely regret not listening to them sooner..

Avalanche City

Avalanche City is a folk/indie band from New Zealand with a beautiful sound that instantly puts a smile on your face. Their music has a sound somewhere in-between Train and The Paper Kites. Their album which was released last year 'Our New Life Above The Ground' can only be described as fantastic. I can't think of any better music to listen to on a summers day. Each song is filled with upbeat and catchy melodies with music videos to match. Their best song 'Love Love Love' could easily be listened to on repeat for hours. Not only is it at brilliant song, but the video is definitely worth a watch.....
