If you are a fan of Vampire Weekend and Fleet Foxes, you will love the fresh sound of Born Ruffians, an exciting band with a big future. They are an indie rock band hailing from the small town of Midland, Ontario, Canada. The band formed in 2004, beginning playing music together during high school under the name Mornington Drive. Their latest song Needle is definitely worth taking a listen to, my favorite song of 2013.

The Orwells
The Orwells are an emerging American rock band hailing from Chicago whose music is set to make an incredible impact. The five members of the band, all only just 18 may seem incredibly young, but what they lack in age they make up for in talent. With similarities to the early works of The Strokes, The Orwells are definitely a band worth listening to. I recommend listening to the incredibly catchy 'Other Voices', which was released last summer, I guarantee you won't be able to stop listening.

Kodaline
Kodaline are a Dublin-based alternative rock quartet who are about to burst into the charts making a big impact. They first attracted attention back in September with the release of their EP 'The Kodaline', whilst they are now beginning to enter peoples radars after the release of their massive single 'High Hopes' their follow up to their previous single 'All I want'. If you are yet to hear any music from Kodaline, think of a combination of Coldplay and Mumford & Sons. These comparisons have been floating around for a while and certainly sets a high bar for this Irish quartet. Kodaline sound perfectly polished without sounding slightly false or smoothed out, and whilst the music is definitely worth listening to, the music videos are just as much of an attraction to the band. Their tear jerking, heartfelt videos are enough to put most big budget music video efforts to shame. The band are definitely worth listening to if you haven't yet.

Vampire Weekend
Whilst I presume that the majority of you are already huge Vampire Weekend fans (if not you should be) the band have some new music coming your way. Whilst the new single Diane Young is available now, you have to wait for their new album 'Modern Vampire Of The City' to come out on May 13th (May 7th for any readers from the US). Just in time for summer, because if we're being honest, Vampire Weekend sound far better listened to whilst basking in the sun. It's been a massive four years since their last album 'Contra', and whilst four years is a long time, believe me 'Diane Young' is worth the wait. It has the potential to be the new 'A Punk' or 'Cousins', whilst being sufficiently different from their earlier sound it will no doubt be one of the soundtracks for summer 2013. At just 2 minutes 44 seconds of sheer brilliance it is definitely worth listening to. For those who haven't listened to the song yet it combines the use of grungy guitar and electronic deluges, the perfect amount of each to make the song work.

Haerts
I guarantee that if you are a Fleetwood Mac fan, you will love the sound of the up and coming band, Haerts. This Brooklyn based band will soon be your new favourite band and are set for big things. Their debut released track wings has created a huge buzz and has left people begging for more. Haerts have created a new genre, a sound that not only perfectly depicts the music of 2013, but also is reminiscent of years past, think Fleetwood Mac meets Stevie Nicks. There is no doubt that Haerts will be the next big thing, so listen to them now before everyone else does. Listen to their debut track 'Wings' and be transported to a music oasis. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WG0e9yu1Gg

Alt-J ∆
∆ (pronounced Alt-J) is a British indie rock quartet, formed in 2007. Their debut album 'An Awesome Wave' was released in 2012 and won the impressive accolade of the 2012 British Mercury Prize. Their name ∆ (or Alt-J) was inspired by the keyboard shortcut used on Apple OS X to insert the Greek letter Delta. Their exceptional award winning album 'An Awesome Wave' holds something new at every turn for listeners. The friction between the unusual experimentation of the album and the catchiness of the songs make the album extremely different from any other album from 2012. Alt-J really are a band that can be compared to no other, creating a new genre of their own yet to be occupied by anyone else. Alt-J are definitely worth a listen, I recommend listening to their captivating song 'Something Good'.

Jake Bugg
Jake Bugg is an incredibly talented 18 year old singe songwriter from Nottingham, United Kingdom. His soulful voice is older than his years and has similarities to Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan to the extent in which he has been given the title of an 'East Midlands Bob Dylan'. After the release of his début album 'Jake Bugg' which achieved number one in the UK album charts, Bugg's popularity is steadily increasing. His music is well worth listening to and the striking diversity of his voice in prominent in all his songs. You would never believe that such a mature voice comes from someone so young. I recommend listening to 'Two Fingers' and 'Country Song'

Imagine Dragons
After failing to publish any new posts for a staggering five months, I felt I needed to return with a bang, hence why I am recommending the incredible Imagine Dragons. Imagine Dragons are an incredibly talented and underrated American alternative rock band based in Las Vegas. For those of you experiencing winter blues cheer yourselves up with what will no doubt be the song of summer '12 'On Top Of The World'. This song has already attracted attention due to featuring on the Fifa 13 soundtrack, which has turned into a rather prestigious accolade, this song is well worth a listen and perfectly depicts the wonderful sound of Imagine Dragons.

Two Door Cinema Club
In anticipation of the highly awaited new album 'Beacon' (due to be released in two days time) I thought it was about time that the incredible music of Two Door Cinema Club was mentioned. For those who aren't aware, Two Door Cinema Club are a three piece indie rock band from Bangor and Donaghadee, County Down, Northern Ireland. Their debut album 'Tourist History' was released back in 2010 to rave reviews. Their up and coming album 'Beacon' is said to stick to the sound that made them successful, it combines uplifting electro pop with introspective melancholy undercurrent. If you like Foster The People or Bombay Bicycle Club I definitely recommend you listening to Two Door Cinema Club, their new album is set to concrete their status in the indie band charts, creating an even bigger buzz than the one that's already surrounding them. I recommend you listening to the two biggest hits off their first album 'Tourist History'- 'What You Know' and 'Something Good Can Work'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXwYJyrKK5A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PorW3y5n1w
